Every year, Petro-Canada selects 55 up-and-coming athletes and their coaches from across Canada to receive a FACE™, or Fuelling Athlete and Coaching Excellence, grant. These grants go to the athletes when they are striving to represent Canada at the Paralympic or Olympic Games when they don’t yet qualify for Government funding.
Candidates are nominated by the National Sport Federations, and the chosen candidates are awarded a $10,000 FACE grant to help them with their journey. The funds are divided $5,000 to the candidate and $5,000 to the coach, and are usually used on training, equipment, coach education and travel expenses for competitions.
Since 1988, Petro-Canada has give $11 million in financial support to more than 3,000 Canadian athletes and coaches. Castle Fuels (2008) Inc. is proud to be a part of this!
